1. What VCDir is

VCDir, operated by Stakyo, LLC, is a directory of venture capital firms and angel investors. Browsing the public listings is free. Paid access — through one-time credits or a recurring subscription — unlocks contact details and bulk export. Pricing and the current product matrix are described on the pricing page.

2. Acceptable use

By using VCDir you agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to harvest data from the Site beyond what is exposed through paid exports
• Resell, redistribute, rent, lease, or sublicense the database — in whole or in part — to any third party
• Use the data to build a competing directory or to populate another commercial product
• Send spam or violate anti-spam laws (CAN-SPAM, CASL, the e-Privacy Directive, and similar) when contacting people listed in the directory
• Discriminate against contacts on the basis of any protected characteristic
• Attempt to circumvent the contact gating, rate limits, or any other technical access controls
• Share your account credentials or paid access with anyone outside your organisation

3. Credits and subscription

Paid access is offered in two complementary forms. Credits are one-time purchases — each credit unlocks a fixed amount of contact reveals or exports. Credits do not expire while your account is in good standing. A subscription is a recurring monthly plan that grants ongoing access to the database and a periodic credit allowance.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and we do not pro-rate partial months.

4. Refund policy

You may request a full refund within 14 days of any purchase — credit pack or first subscription charge — provided you have not used more than a small portion of the purchase (we treat fewer than 10% of credits used, or fewer than five contact reveals, as eligible). Email hello@vcdir.com with your order ID and we will process the refund through Stripe. Renewals after the first subscription period are non-refundable, but you can cancel future renewals at any time.

5. Account termination

We may suspend or terminate any account that, in our reasonable judgement, violates these Terms — including the acceptable-use rules in Section 2, repeated chargebacks, or misuse of contact data exported from the directory. Where reasonable we will warn first; where the conduct is egregious (mass scraping, resale, or spam) we may act without notice. On termination, any unused credits or paid time may be forfeited, and we may retain limited records as required by law or to enforce these Terms.

You can close your own account at any time through your account page. Closing your account does not erase data we are legally required to keep (such as billing records); see the Privacy Policy for retention details.

6. Compliance with anti-spam and privacy laws

The directory contains business-to-business contact information. You alone are responsible for ensuring your outreach complies with the CAN-SPAM Act, the TCPA, GDPR/UK GDPR, and any other law that applies to the people you contact. You must honour opt-out and unsubscribe requests promptly and not contact anyone who has asked to be removed from the directory.

You agree to indemnify Stakyo, LLC and its personnel against claims, fines, or damages arising from your violation of anti-spam, privacy, or anti-discrimination laws, or from any misuse of the directory.

7. Data removal

If you are listed in the directory and want your information removed, use the form at vcdir.com/contact-removal or email hello@vcdir.com with the subject "Data Removal Request". We process verified requests within 30 days and confirm completion by email.

8. Intellectual property

All content on the Site — including the curation, structure, and selection of the database — is the property of Stakyo, LLC or its licensors and is protected by U.S. and international intellectual property law. Your paid access grants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the data for your own internal outreach and business development.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and the directory are provided "as is" and "as available." We work hard on accuracy, but we make no warranty — express or implied — that any contact detail, investment thesis, or affiliation is current or correct. You are responsible for verifying critical information before acting on it.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stakyo, LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

11. Governing law and arbitration

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved by binding arbitration in Delaware before a single arbitrator administered by JAMS under its Comprehensive Arbitration Rules and Procedures. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

12. Modifications

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
